THURSDAY NOTICE ON TUESDAY, APRIL 29.
Dear Parents,
It was a wonderful vacation week. I hope that all of you enjoyed it. The children had lots of stories to share so I know that they have some good memories of a great week. Now we have a little over a month of school left (33 days). I’ve asked every teacher to continue making the best use of this time. There are also many events coming up so I will need YOUR cooperation.
Thursday, May 1 Ascension of the Lord – there will be a school Mass at 9:00. Grade 1 is responsible. Since this is a holy day, every child will be given an envelope for the Offering.
Friday, May 2 the Sound of Music play at 9:30. It is a dress rehearsal but parents and friends may attend. Tickets will be sold at the door for all adults who attend. I’m asking the students to bring in a box of pasta or macaroni and cheese as their admittance fee. These items have been requested to help the Food Pantry. We are not sure of the length of time for the play so every child is asked to bring a BROWN BAG lunch on Friday. There will be no school lunch that day.
On Friday evening there is a practice for those children making their First communion on Sunday, May 4.
There is a PTO meeting on _Monday, May 5. Please make every effort to attend if you are a room rep, but all parents are invited to attend all of these meetings.
Track practices have begun. A separate info sheet will go home listing the dates and times of practices and the location.
On Monday, there was only 1 parent helping in the cafeteria. What happened to the third semester of parent helpers in the cafeteria? Please consider monitoring school lunch, even for only an hour. Lunches begin at 11:15 and end at 1:00. This is a great opportunity to see your child and to receive hours. THE OPPORTUNITIES FOR RECEIVING HOURS ARE BECOMING FEWER. ALL FAMILIES KNOW THAT THEY ARE REQUIRED TO DO HOURS, UNLESS THEY PAY TUITION IN FULL. I appreciate all the help you can and do give me and our school.
Most “Spring outfits” on the children were really cute. Thank you for your cooperation. I cautioned the children about the shoes they wear to school –NO FLIP FLOPS – there are too many stairs in our building.
The Finance Board will meet on Wednesday, April 30 to set the tuition rates for next year. I hope that everyone understands the reason behind the new tuition system. This is a mandate from the Archdiocese under the 2010 Initiative. If you attended the meeting about the tuition your questions should have been answered, if you need further assistance,
Mrs.Quintal will be happy to help you.
DON’T FORGET THAT THERE ARE NO SCHOOL LUNCHES ON FRIDAY, May 2, DUE TO THE SCHOOL PLAY.
Mark your calendar for the Spring Musical on Thursday, May 8 at 6:30 pm.
Looking forward to seeing you,
Carol Simone
