Thursday Notice – January 21, 2010
Dear Parents:
speedy week, with a guest speaker on Tuesday, a dress down day on Wednesday, Academic Bowl on Thursday, and the Father/Daughter Dance on Friday.
The children are still going out for recess. Please remind them to dress accordingly. If some students wear boots in school they need to cover the tops with their slacks. The best policy would be to bring in another pair of shoes.
The City Basketball Tournament begins this weekend. St. Joseph Boys’ & Girls’ teams did very well. Once we know the schedule we’ll post it on-line.
There will be NO 3rd & 4th grade boys’ basketball practice tomorrow (Friday, January 22nd)
due to the Father/Daughter Dance being held in the gym.
Friday, January 22nd we will be hosting the second annual Father/Daughter Dance in our gym. We thank Vickie Steed and Darlene Budds for organizing this event. It always proves to be a wonderful night.
Academic Bowl games have begun.
The Junior team won against Silver Hill. The Senior team lost against Consentino.
Grade 8 will be responsible for the 9:30 Family Mass on Sunday, January 24th. Fr. Mike is encouraging all students to attend.
Catholic Schools Week begins with the 4:00 Mass on January 30th. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT ALL FAMILIES ATTEND, from Nursery to Grade 8. Please join us at the Spaghetti Supper following the Mass. Donation will be: Adults - $6.00, Children - $3.00, A Family of 2 Adults/3 Children - $20.00.
Mrs. Navien will be taking students during lunch to prepare them for the Catholic Schools Mass on Saturday. This will take place during lunch time. If your child likes to sing and will be attending that Mass, please encourage him/her to see Mrs. Navien. During
Catholic Schools Week she will work with those students planning to attend the Lowell Devils game. All who attend the hockey game may assemble on the ice to sing the National Anthem.
There is a regular School Board Meeting on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at the Church Rectory.
Registrations will begin soon. Remember, we’re counting on all of you to attract new families to our school. This will benefit all of us.
Have a good weekend!
